Import xml file error

User TRIBU 2016-01-24 19:12:45

Hello,
I state not to be expert in list management, but Joomla yes and also enough to XML, csv, etc.
I purchased, installed your great component List Manager. I understand how to create a new list, its formatting, publication, etc. But if I try to create a list from an external XML file component me error.
Error while saving list. The list is created, but is empty. I tried both with XML standards, either with XML for Excel, but the result is the same. If I try to import it in csv me an error 500 server. Below I put a piece of the two XML files, but it does not seem that there are no syntax errors. For me it would be very important to avoid having to redo all the lists for this problem. Help! Thank you.

Hello,
yes, the forum doesn't allow to share code, for that purpouse you should use the ticket system instead, where we can also share files attached. We're not sure how did you created your xml files. The xml must follow the component internal structure, you will get a valid xml structure creating a new list at list manager backend, fill some data, and then use the 'export list(backup)' option. This option allows to backup-recover whole lists (structure+data) among installations, and it will always create a new list when imported. That way you can check which are the tags and structure needed so you would be able to create your own.

Regarding csv, this option allows to paste csv data, is not intended to load list structure, but only its contents. The right syntax for this case is printed at the same page, so you can see which is the fields and order needed to do the import.

Hope this helps, regards

ok, as I imagined. As I understand it, first I have to mesh the database with the same fields, columns, etc. after I upload the data from the external file.
As for the code is loaded, sorry, but I did not understand, because there is under the tag

. In case you still have problems will open a ticket. Meanwhile, thanks to the immediate response.

PLEASE. CAN YOU CONFIRM THAT I UNDERSTAND CORRECTLY?

Hi,
it depends on what do you need/want to do. These are the options:

- If you have your list already created at the backend, and you need to load data, you must use the csv format
- If you want to 'move' one list to another site (structure and data), or create a backup, you can use the 'export list'/'import list' options. This will save all information in xml format, and you don't need to create a list to recover, the import will create both the list, fields, etc, and the records.

Hope this helps, regards

I tried to use the button Export List BackUp and it gave me the error in the box below. Now I try to create the grid and enter the data via CSV.

1064 You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual That Corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 1 SQL = select * from where ug1hy_listmanager_field_multivalue idfield in ()

Hello,

We are unable to reproduce this error here. All exports seems to be ok. Please add a ticket in helpdesk sharing an url and user/pass of your site and we'll take a look.

Ok. Before I make a test table. If it works proceed, otherwise if the error is reproduced it opens a ticket. For the moment, thank you very much.
