Don't show "null" when empty option

User TheFencepedia 2024-08-17 22:04:55

Hi,

I have calculators with multiple option lists. I need the user to click on each one and change them, so I've included an empty field in each option list.

However, some of my calculators are now showing "null" instead of a blank field,.

How do I change this so the fields are empty until someone clicks on them to select an option? Can I override the "null" text string somewhere?

I have over a hundred generators now, and this problem just started, so I need to be able to fix this WITHOUT changing EVERY option list of EVERY calculator.

Hi,
there are no recent changes on how the option lists are shown, do you mean you had a version that was showing a blank field and after some upgrade it started to show null? Using last version, we tried to add an empty option to a multiple option list field and it shows an empty string as expected. Please export one of the calculators you have with the problem, zip it and attach it to the ticket, let us know which is the field with the problem and/or how to reproduce and we'll let you know where that 'null' string is coming from.

Thanks, regards

Hi,

Not sure what you "fixed" but when I export and import calculators, update them and then save, it's still inserting "null" where there are blank options.

I really need that fixed, or I need to know how to change the text string so that I don't have to manually fix the forms every time this happens.

Thanks.

Hi,
we have not introduced any fix yet, because as explained above, this doesn't happen to us so we're not able to reproduce. That's why we asked you to export one of the calculators you have showing this problem, zip it and attach it to the ticket. Please let us know which is the field with the problem , we'll check where that 'null' string is coming from and we'll let you know how to solve asap.

Thanks, regards

Here's one of the calculators I've had this issue with.

Every option field is affected, but the first one is the Revision Number field.

This issue is ongoing.

Hi,
ok, thank you, with your calculator export we finally were able to reproduce. Please upgrade to the latest version and let us know in case you still find any issue.

Thanks, regards
